Sabbath Morning Deliciousness

This is what was awaiting me this morning for breakfast...AMAZING cinnamon rolls!!

What can I say, I have an amazing husband :)

"For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."
Exodus 20:10-12

Nutty Skin

One of the side effects of living in a dessert is having dry skin. To top that off, my work involves washing my hands numerous times a day. I'm always looking for products that will aid me this department! Since I married a Dr. in Preventive Care, I've started reading labels more closely...and not just food. The flip side of my deliciously scented lotion turned out to be quite stale. Alcohol? Really? How is that supposed to hydrate my skin? Many other ingredients also looked quite parched. So mother Google had to educate me on carcinogens, allergens, toxins, irritants and ... I started looking for alternatives. In a nutshell, this is what I've concluded on using:

ALMOND OIL!

...and I couldn't be happier! It's light, long lasting, quickly absorbed, not sticky, and makes my skin more shiny. More than that, I can also use it on my hair and as a makeup remover. You can buy it from health food stores or online. Most brands are comparable.

Hmmm...now I'm thinking of experimenting with olive oil :)

Butternut Coconut Cream/Soup

Last evening my husband surprised me with a creamy delight, complete with an attractive garnish...and it tasted even better! Come to find out, it was quite a simple recipe:

-One medium butternut squash
-One onion
-One clove of garlic
-1/2 Cup coconut milk (we've decided Mae Ploy is the best)
-Water
-Parsley (fresh or dried)

Peel and dice butternut squash, onion, and garlic. Add water and bring to a boil until tender. Blend mixture, using only enough water to obtain creamy consistency. Add +/- a 1/2 C of coconut milk & blend until mixed (**you can use soy, almond, or cashew milk instead). Add a pinch of salt if so desired. Once served, dip a knife in the coconut milk and then in slide on the soup. Use the parsley for garnish.

who takes refuge in Him." Psalm 34:8
